A touch of Hollywood came to Alba Restaurant in Quincy recently as the community welcomed two best-selling authors in for a VIP book signing event up on the roof.

National best-selling authors Casey Sherman and Dave Wedge were celebrated at Alba for their books “The Finest Hours” and “Boston Strong”.  Sherman authored New York Times best seller “The Finest Hours” about a dramatic Coast Guard rescue off the Massachusetts coast.  The Disney film version of the book starred Chris Pine and Casey Affleck and the thrilling ocean battle scenes were filmed in studio at Quincy’s Fore River Shipyard providing a significant economic boost to the city.

Sherman and Wedge co-authored “Boston Strong”, a best-selling non-fiction account of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings.  The film “Patriots day” starring Mark Wahlberg, John Goodman, and Kevin Bacon – based in part on the book – filmed scenes in Quincy’s waterfront Merrymount neighborhood.

Dirty Water TV Reporter Taralyn Asack caught up with these star authors atop the roof deck at Alba.
