Boston, Massachusetts is home to some of the most historic venues in the region. On Tuesday, June 7, one of New England’s most notable hubs will provide the perfect setting to host one of NASCAR’s most notable drivers, as Sprint Cup Series pilot Carl Edwards will make a series of historic and engaging pit stops in Beantown.
Edwards will be making three stops in Boston, including a visit to the historic USS Constitution in Charlestown, where he’ll board “Old Ironsides” for a tour of the 200-year-old Navy frigate, as well as take part in naval routines aboard the ship that houses 44 cannons. The shipyard stop will be followed by stops at Quincy Market near Faneuil Hall and the renowned City Hall Plaza for a pit stop at the Scooper Bowl, where he’ll arrive in New Hampshire Motor Speedway show car.
Edwards’s visit comes less than six weeks before the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series returns to New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the New Hampshire 301 on Sunday, July 17, 2016.
Dirty Water Media’s crews were up in Loudon, New Hampshire last week taking a test spin around the 1+ mile track. Hosts Camille Kostek, KISS 108 Personality Mikey V, and 101.5 The Bull DJ Colton Bradford experienced the need for speed at New Hampshire Motor Speedway for themselves and had a great deal of fun along the way.
Edwards is coming off one of his best seasons at the Magic Mile, taking the pole in both NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races held at the speedway during the 2015 season. He used those strong starts to capture back-to-back top-10 finishes, including a fifth-place finish in September’s Chase for the championship race.
Edwards is currently fourth in Sprint Cup Series points and his two wins make him a lock for this year’s Chase for the Sprint Cup Championship. New Hampshire Motor Speedway will host the second race in the Chase, the New England 300, on Sept. 25, 2016.
