Apparently, fish don’t fry in the kitchen any longer.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it?

Or is it, if it aint’ broke, break it!

Let’s find out.

Jackie Bradley Junior — he of the .341 average, No. 4 in AL OPS at 1.001, and 19 game hitting streak — is movin’ on up to a deluxe spot in the order as he bats No. 2 this afternoon against the Houston Astros. JBJ is 0-for-7 when batting in the No. 2 spot, but that was the old Jackie Bradley, defensive specialist. Not the AL MVP challenger we’ve been watching this week.

It was just another night at the office for JBJ in Friday night’s 7-6 loss to the Astros as the red hot center fielder went 3-for-4 with a run and RBI in extending the American League’s season best hit streak.

Here’s your new and improved lineup that takes the field at 1:00 p.m. today:

  1. Mookie Betts RF
  2. Jackie Bradley Jr. CF
  3. Xander Bogaerts SS
  4. David Ortiz DH
  5. Hanley Ramirez 1B
  6. Travis Shaw 3B
  7. Josh Rutledge 2B
  8. Brock Holt LF
  9. Christian Vazquez C

The question is, will JBJ just play through the change, keeping his even keel?

Or will he behave differently in the batter’s box in the No. 2 hole? Or maybe, just have a bad day coincidentally?

We shall see soon enough.

But JBJ has finally got a piece of the pie.
