Many have referred to Boston as the new “Hollywood East” with movies being made here, sitcoms being themed from here and new music being made in leaps and bounds right here in Beantown.  Obviously much of that buzz comes from Boston’s own Steven Tyler, Aerosmith lead man and Ben Affleck and Matt Damon hailing from Boston and creating their Academy Award winning movie right here as well.

Now take pop music upstart Molly Reinold who is giving the Hollywood in Boston theme her own unique twist with the release of her new music video “Movies”.

In her video for “Movies”, she showcases her slinky, seductive alt-pop/R&B track — about a girl who dreams of a fairytale ending, only to realize the real world often creates its own life narrative — and sets it against the Boston skyline. Scenes were filmed around Cambridge, like at the Lynch Family Skatepark underneath the ramps to the Leonard P. Zakim Bridge, and inside the colorful “Graffiti Alley” in Central Square, which sets the backdrop for choreographed dancers Kaylee “Impavido” Millis (“The Pulse”) and Brandon Olegario.

“Boston is my city and I really wanted to capture that,” says Reinold. “I am a dreamer and a romantic. That’s the basis of why I wrote the song… I have been surrounded and embraced by such incredibly talented people. I couldn’t be happier with outcome of the video.”

The video was directed by Jim Foster of Red 13 Media, and the song was produced by OH NO! ØKTAPUS and recorded at Red 13 Media Studios in Framingham.
