BarUp Bar Spotlight (Montreal Edition) – Peel Pub

Last weekend the BarUp crew spontaneously decided to dig up the passports and head to the great white north. After making a few phone calls and scrapping Airbnb for a place to crash, we had a group of five of us. Six hours later and no one with any cell phone service, we found ourselves in the middle of downtown Montreal. It was 20 degrees, and with just BarUp shirts on we stumbled to the closest liquor serving establishment we could find.

Bar Spotlight (Montreal Edition) – Peel Pub

Located in the heart of Montreal, a stone throw away from Saint Catherine Street and a 5 minute walk from the Bell Center, Peel Pub gets its name from Peel Street. Upon walking into the bar, the first thing you notice is the overwhelming amount of noise. Like the city of Montreal, Peel Pub never sleeps. With over 100 TVs between two levels, you can catch any and every sporting event imaginable; in English.

The real reason we are spotlighting Peel Pub is because the massive beer and alcohol selection. Every single night there is a new special involving shooters, beer, and mixed drinks. Some specials are over the top and like nothing you would find in Boston. To name a few, 99 cent shooters, 140oz Pitchers, 10 dollar pitchers of mixed drinks.

Being in Canada, you must try poutine at every bar you go to and Peel Pub did not disappoint. They have the standard Quebec poutine – with many other add-on options if you dare.

Next time you are in Montreal, be sure to stop by BarUp’s new favorite bar in Montreal.
