The young quarterback preparing to take over the reigns for the defending Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos found himself in a curious situation Monday afternoon.
A candid cell phone video caught what appears to be Brock Osweiler involved in a 2:00 a.m. Saturday Night altercation between himself and another group of individuals.
On the same day legendary Peyton Manning held his retirement press conference, this incident involving Brock surfaced on the internet. Early Monday afternoon, multiple reports were out that Osweiler had a 3 year, $45 million deal on the table. According to TMZ, witnesses say a group heckled the quarterback and his friends at Joe’s Pizza in Scottsdale, Arizona. Brock was leaving the nearby W Hotel where his friend Kelley James was performing.
At one point during the video, Brock nudges a woman out of his way while she is screaming at him. As he attempts to leave, one of the men in the other party shoves Osweiler from behind hard. The quarterback almost trips and falls. Not only does he manage to still hold onto the large pizza, he walks away and leaves the scene without further altercation.
According to sources at TMZ who spoke with the Scottsdale police department, there was no crime reported and no victims came forward. No one was arrested. Osweiler probably shouldn’t have put his hands on the woman but left before anything more serious occurred. By walking away, he managed to avoid fumbling away his contract and the pizza he ordered from Joe’s.
Who knows what the issue began over but hopefully for his sake this is the end of it and it serves as a learning experience heading forward.
