Looks like it was a one-way trip to Foxborough for Frank Kearse.
The 27-year-old defensive end/tackle announced on his Instagram account that he’s a Patriot, posting a Patriots logo and writing “New Beginnings #Notarize.” Saves Bill Belichick the trouble of making it official and the GM/coach can just go on to the next one.
Kearse — who visited the Patriots this week — played in only four games for the Washington Redskins in 2015; on the field for just 76 snaps.
“As a player I was born to compete and that’s the only thing I care about,” Kearse told Redskins.com in 2015. “As long as I can go out every day to compete and give my best. Everybody wants to win, but wins and losses come a dime a dozen. But did you get better today? That’s what I try to do every day is get better.”
Kearse was a seventh-round selection out of Alabama A&M in 2011. The 6-foot-5, 310-pound defensive lineman has also played with the Carolina Panthers, Tennessee Titans, and Dallas Cowboys. For his career, Kearse has appeared in 35 career games to net 43 tackles, 5.5 sacks and a batted pass.
