Design Museum Boston is introducing local diners to artistic dining here in Boston’s Downtown Crossing. It’s a fascinating art exhibit that makes going out to dinner a creative endeavor. Their Design for Dining program kicked off this summer with an interactive experience featuring seven restaurant collaborations that showcase how designers shape the dining experience – from a restaurant’s vision to the completed dining experience. Guests can reserve a table vignette and enjoy these one-off dining experiences. Here at Legal Crossing – or LX – the Bergmeyer LX team amplified the LX concept for six adventurous guests. The proximity to Chinatown influenced the daring, Asian-inspired menu, while a nod to the neighborhood’s colorful Combat Zone past is found in the menu’s playfully themed cocktails. Bergmeyer’s circular booth includes a back-lit glass mosaic table top which shifts from amber to crimson over the course of a 2-hour dining experience. It’s an adventurous and colorful dining experience that Dirty Water TV Reporter Julie Dawson truly loved exploring.
