Originally a day to celebrate Mexico’s victory over French rule in 1863, Cinco de Mayo has been adopted by the U.S. as a day to celebrate Mexican food, culture, traditions, and—of course—booze. Lifestyle brands throughout the Greater Boston Area are gearing up to offer fun mid-week reasons to celebrate. Here are just a few!

MidiCi: Located at 463 Assembly Row in Somerville, MidiCi Wood-Fired Italian will be offering a Margherita & Margaritas deal! Pauli’s: For the entire month of May, Pauli’s will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo with festive Cinco de Mayo fries as its fries of the month. These loaded fries include pico de gallo, cheddar cheese, chopped chicken, & avocado served over French fries with chipotle mayo or ranch for dipping and are priced at $9.99. Cósmica: The South End’s favorite taco joint, Cósmica, is hosting a taco and margarita party on Cinco de Mayo from 4:30PM-11:00PM. Alongside the Cal-Mex eateries’ delicious tacos, the party will include mariachi and Mexican music, a hot pepper eating contest, piñata whacking, and various food & drink specials. Season to Taste: Chef Robert Harris is taking his culinary approach to Cinco at Season to Taste, featuring a few Mexican specials on his weekly Family Dinner list! Choose between Adobo Braised Duck Enchiladas or Vegetarian Adobo Braised Jackfruit Enchiladas served with salsa roja, mango cilantro jicama, cotija cheese, spicy black beans, and arroz verde. The meal also includes tortilla chips with guacamole and salsa & fresh squeezed margarita mix with chili lime sea salt.
