It is hard to believe that it’s Friday once again. The weeks seem to be flying by despite the lack of activity.  The daily Shout Outs have slowed down a bit as time progresses, but there is a lot to experience this weekend, so be sure to check out all the details.
1. B/SPOKE COCKTAIL HOUR – SATURDAY, APRIL 18th

B/SPOKE Front Desker David Lockwood will be hosting Christiano Souza from Saltie Girl restaurant on IG LIVE Saturday, April 18th at 6pm. Saltie Girl has been deemed “Back Bay’s seafood Mecca” and has made their presence KNOWN in the city with their delicious Seafood menu and charming raw bar. Christiano (& David!) will be mixing up (3) “classic” cocktails: a Rum Daiquiri, a Margarita and a Manhattan – a sure fire way to spice up your Saturday evening!  Interested in mixing up your drink of choice? Prep the following ingredients ahead of time:
RUM DAIQUIRI – 2 oz AGED RUM, 1 oz LIME JUICE, .75 oz SIMPLE SYRUP, 3 DASHES ANGOSTURA BITTERS
MARGARITA – 1.5 oz BLANCO TEQUILA, 1 oz LIME JUICE, .75 oz AGAVE
MANHATTAN – 2 oz RYE WHISKEY, 1 oz SWEET VERMOUTH, 3 DASHES ANGOSTURA BITTERS, 2 DASHES ORANGE BITTERS
2. AT-HOME DUMPLING MAKING PARTY WITH MEI MEI – SUNDAY, APRIL 19th

This hands-on class covers everything you need to make dumplings at home including hand-folding techniques and how to achieve that perfect pan-sear. 4. FUN AND GAMES WITH CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL – FRIDAY, APRIL 17TH

Boston Children’s Hospital is encouraging families and gamers alike to participate in a day of joy and virtual togetherness to support children and caregivers on the frontlines at Boston Children’s. On Friday, April 17, the hospital will host New England’s biggest virtual game night, “Big Family Game Night,” an all-day event where families and gamers can play board, card or video games at home and help save lives right from their couch. Here’s how to participate:

3. Challenge friends and families to join in on the fun
4. Play your game of choice online over Zoom or with your quarantine crew. Boston Children’s will also send game ideas when you sign up.
5. SATURDAY NIGHT LIVESTREAM – APRIL 18th

This Saturday, April 18th at 7pm is the latest  Saturday Night LIVEstreams as part of DO617’s #DoStuffAtHome series. 6. LIVE VIRTUAL DANCE LESSONS – SATURDAY, APRIL 18th

Looking for a way to learn some new dance moves or simply stay active? Well you’re in luck, because North Shore-based professional dancers and studio owners, Serena and Savana Petruzello, are hosting a VIRTUAL dance class and will be donating all proceeds to Christopher’s Haven, a Boston-based nonprofit serving as a home for families with children undergoing cancer treatment.
Serena and Savana are professional dancers, Pats cheerleaders, and owners of Zello Dance Studios in Peabody, Mass. The twins are hosting a LIVE, virtual dance class via Zoom this Saturday, April 18, 2020 from 2:00 – 3:00pm ET. The class is open to kids, teens and adults of all dance levels. The class will feature fun, upbeat and original choreography from the twins that’ll keep all participants active while supporting Christopher’s Haven!
The class fee is $10, and all proceeds will go to Christopher’s Haven which helps the CH family continue to provide convenient and safe housing to their amazing families who need a home away from home at an extremely vulnerable time. 7. DRINK UNDER THE STAR – TUESDAY, APRIL 21st
While the Exhibit Halls of the Museum of Science are closed, their team has been transforming its offerings to serve the community online with MOS at Home, a digital Museum experience complete with live presentations, podcasts, at-home activities, videos, and more. This week, they introduce their award-winning adult programming, SubSpace, to MOS at Home, engaging audiences with the conversations and musical experiences they expect from the Museum’s after hours programming.
“A Drink Under the Stars” with Paul Sutter, Tuesday, April 21st from 8:00 – 9:00 pm. Join astrophysicist and author, Paul Sutter, for an exploration of the night sky, as you see it from your back yard and discuss some major celestial events happening this month. Audience members will have the opportunity to ask Sutter any of their burning space questions, while enjoying their suggested cocktail or mocktail to sip along with the event. 8. ONE WORLD TOGETHER AT HOME – SATURDAY, APRIL 18TH

The ‘One World: Together At Home’ Global Special will be broadcast on major television networks and streamed online on Saturday, April 18th at 8PM.

This virtual concert, organized by WHO and international advocacy organization Global Citizen, will bring together people who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic to take meaningful actions to protect health and to support the global COVID-19 response.  It will also celebrate and support brave healthcare workers doing life-saving work on the frontlines.

Curated in collaboration with Lady Gaga, this global event will include Alanis Morissette, Andrea Bocelli, Billie Eilish, Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, Burna Boy, Chris Martin, David Beckham, Eddie Vedder, Elton John, FINNEAS, Idris and Sabrina Elba, J Balvin, John Legend, Kacey Musgraves, Keith Urban, Kerry Washington, Lang Lang, Lizzo, Maluma, Paul McCartney, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Shah Rukh Khan and Stevie Wonder.

9. VIEW BOSTON THE EMPTY CITY

This video speaks for itself.  It is a near empty City of Boston in all of its eery beauty. Created by videographer Schuyler Ortega who said “the hustle and bustle of Boston on the weekends has come to a standstill with the current COVID 19 pandemic hitting the city.
