DRUMI IS A HYBRID MATTRESS BRAND DEDICATED TO CLEANING THE OCEANS OF MARINE LITTER AND PRESERVING OCEANIC HEALTH
Bostonians can now bring simple island luxury to their sleep each night without ever leaving the city – all while helping clean the oceans of marine litter and restoring and preserving the ocean’s health. Local brother-sister duo Girish and Kanchan Nebhwani recently announce the launch of Drumi, a hybrid mattress designed with premium materials to provide customers the coolest sleep, superior comfort and effortless delivery. Drumi also offers all customers ample time to let the “Drumi Difference” sink in with a 100-night trial and a 10-year limited warranty available with every mattress purchase.
As children growing up in Curacao under a family business rooted in furniture retail and customer experience, the Nebhwani siblings are no strangers to the industry. It has always been their dream to follow in the footsteps of the family’s successes with a product of their own that not only brings solutions to the sleep deprived, but also embodies the history and culture of the island life they fondly grew up in. After studying in the Boston area and building on their background in the family business, Girish and Kanchan are eager to launch Drumi to the Boston community and provide each customer a tranquil, refreshing and luxurious start to the new year.

To celebrate the brand’s launch to the Boston market, Drumi has partnered with some of Boston’s best businesses in wellness and luxury for a one-of-a-kind yoga + mattress experience not to be missed. Details include an immersive, one-of-a-kind yoga experience led by one of Boston’s leading yoga instructors, followed by a reception with complimentary small bites and signature island-feel cocktails, live music, giveaways including one lucky attendee who will win their very own Drumi mattress, and more.
Drumi is celebrating the launch of its innovative product with an immersive yoga experience event this week on Wednesday, March 4th, 2020 at Artists for Humanity, from 6:00PM – 8:00PM. Attendees are asked to arrive at 6:00PM for registration, with class starting promptly at 6:30PM with a reception to follow immediately after. The donation-only event is ticketed and asks for a minimum donation of $25 to attend. All proceeds will go directly to supporting Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, and can be purchased here.
One of the most significant differentiators for Drumi is the company’s commitment to supporting ocean cleanup. With over 12 million tons of plastic flowing into the ocean each year, Girish and Kanchan decided to make a product with a bigger purpose, supporting the SEAQUAL INITIATIVE in collaboration with NGOs, fishermen and local communities, helping to clean the oceans of marine litter around the world.
Each Drumi mattress is made with sustainable and traceable SEAQUAL® YARN, crafted by removing plastic from the oceans into high-quality textiles, and used in conjunction with organic cotton and polyester in the mattress’s outer cover to make it soft, strong and sustainable. With every Drumi queen-sized mattress said to help remove approximately 35 plastic bottles from the ocean, one could say Drumi’s commitment to oceanic health is woven into the mattress itself.

Drumi’s mattress is on an island of its own, using the most superior quality materials on the market to ensure customers get deeply refreshing, vacation-quality sleep every night.
Drumi’s hybrid mattress is designed with all kinds of sleepers in mind, providing the perfect “sweet spot” between firm and soft with superior support, pressure relief and cooling abilities to ensure a deeper and more restorative sleep every night. Why hybrid? The hybrid mattresses offer a “best of both worlds” approach to mattress design, combining the responsive, contoured support of a foam mattress with the structure, spinal support and bounce of innerspring coils.
The final result of the design provides an island oasis for customers in today’s sea of flashy mattress-shopping gimmicks and misleading promotions. With a “simple island luxury” philosophy, Drumi aims to provide customers with a hassle-free experience from purchase to delivery through transparency, honesty and with the customer’s best interests in mind.
- Luxe Cooling & Support – Drumi’s premium hybrid design combines Talalay latex, heat-wicking Serene® Foam, individually wrapped pocketed coils, and a breathable outer cover to provide just the right balance of softness and support — and keep you cooler all night long. *Serene® is a registered trademark of Carpenter Co.
- Ocean-Friendly Design – Each Drumi mattress helps to clean the oceans from marine litter by supporting the SEAQUAL INITIATIVE. The outer cover is made with sustainable SEAQUAL® YARN, containing upcycled marine plastic. Plus, Drumi donates a portion of all proceeds to the Coral Restoration Foundation Curacao.
- Green Glove Delivery – They’ll deliver your new mattress and set it up in your room of choice for free — all while minimizing wasteful packaging and plastics at every stage from design to delivery. Their expert Green Glove Delivery team makes the whole process effortless.
In addition to the SEAQUAL INITIATIVE, Drumi also donates a part of the proceeds from every mattress sold to the Coral Restoration Foundation Curacao, a trusted organization that is reconstructing the coral reefs around the company founders’ home island. With each mattress purchase, Drumi customers “adopt” a young piece of coral in the foundation’s nursery, and a portion of the proceeds from that mattress sale will support its growth until it reaches maturity and is planted on the island’s own reef.
“Boston has always been close to our heart,” said Drumi co-founders Kanchan and Girish Nebhwani . “After moving here for university and developing a network in the community, we knew this was the right place to start our business. Not much attention is put on the amount of plastic being wasted from the packaging of mattresses in a box. When designing Drumi, we wanted to find a way to create an effortless delivery, reduce wasteful plastic in our packaging and clean the oceans. By joining the SEAQUAL INITIATIVE, donating to the Coral Restoration Foundation Curacao and offering a Green -Glove delivery service, our goal is to provide a luxury mattress made with high quality materials that you can feel good about.”
Drumi mattresses range from $1,195.00 to $1,895 depending on the desired size. All purchases include Drumi’s green glove delivery service and a free mattress removal.
