Opening in June 2021 Faraway is a new lifestyle, boutique hotel brand located in the world’s highest-barrier-to-entry resort markets. Created and owned by Boston based Blue Flag Partners and co operated by New York-based Life House. Faraway focuses on the redevelopment of existing “urban core” historic properties. The brand fuses locally rooted design with sophisticated hospitality offerings, catering to the young at heart.
“Faraway has always reflected what we thought was lacking from the hotel scene in one of our favorite places in the world – Nantucket. It’s a bit of revelry tucked into a historic and refined collection of buildings. It’s like what we imagined might have happened back in the 20s in Getrude Stein’s living room in Paris, but on an island. We drew inspiration from a story we created of a woman who grew up on Nantucket, stole away on a ship in her teens and then arrived back on the island decades later with her own ship, a pile of treasure and stories to tell. We loved the idea of designing a space that felt as if she bought this old collection of houses in the center of it all, dropped her belongings (collected over the years on her rum and spice routes), and opened her eclectic residence to those looking for a bit of fun, a bit of inspiration and, always, a good laugh.” said Jason Brown partner at Blue Flag Partners
The hotel is in close proximity to the island’s many attractions including the ferry landing, dozens of world-class shops, intimate restaurants, and bars that dot the island’s refined urban core.
The hotel will also feature unique guest experiences, with bikes, in-room maps/guides and insider recommendations of the best that Nantucket has to offer.
Blue Flag continues its long-standing partnership with Life House alongside its first collaboration with award winning branding firm, LMNOP, on the launch of Faraway Nantucket.
