Unique Provincetown, Mass. Eco-Tours Earn 5-Star Reviews & They’re Free for Guests of 3 Hotels.
There are six distinct tours developed by long-time Provincetown writer Ann Wood, Director of Outer Cape Tours & Concierge Services. The 90-minute tours are free for guests of three local hotels owned by Lexvest Hospitality Group: Breakwater Hotel, Cape Colony Inn, and Truro Beach Cottages. Tours are also available to the public who can purchase tickets online.
One early tour participant posted her review on TripAdvisor: “Ann Wood is a wonderful guide, very knowledgeable and fun. The ‘Is it a beach or is it a forest’ was a wonderful look into the history of the formation of P’town. Highly recommended.”
Participant Ina wrote, “We went on the rail trail walking tour. Our guide who lived on the Cape for 50 years was amazing. He knows the history as well as the plants. He was informative and personable. We took our two dogs along and everyone had a wonderful time.”
And tourist Stephanie enjoyed the adults only ‘Wild West of the East’ tour, “where stuff went down with noted luminaries ever since the Pilgrims landed in 1620.” She said, “We took this exceptional adult tour guided by Billy Hough and Ann Wood. It was a.m.a.z.i.n.g. I’ve been coming to P’town for years and got new insight into the less talked-about side. It made me fall in love with the area even more. It’s a wonderful tour we highly recommend to anyone who wants to learn the underbelly of a town.” (This tour runs every Thursday at 6 p.m.)
In addition to the ‘Wild West’ tour, other Outer Cape Tours are: ‘Railway to a Unique Ecosystem: Nature in Action’; ‘Pirates & Witches’; ‘Walk the Dunes’; ‘Bay Creatures Great & Small’ and ‘Beech Forest, A Hike through Dunes, Ponds and Woodlands.’
