Salt Bae’s Boston Venue – Nusr-Et – Shut Down for Covid-19 Violations

The global superstar’s third American location shut down in Boston shortly after opening.

The chef known as Salt Bae opened his Boston restaurant on Friday, September 18th, but just over a week later, it was forced to close due to “the existing and imminent threat to public health and public safety,” the licensing board said. Its alcohol license was also suspended.
According to the board’s statement, officials received a complaint the day Nusr-Et opened and throughout the following weekend, alleging that the steakhouse was failing to adhere to numerous Covid-19 requirements.
The Instagram celebrity known as Salt Bae recently announced he would open a Boston restaurant. “Please wish me good luck for grand opening Nusr-Et Bostonus [sic] this weekend,” he wrote on Instagram.

Nusr-Et Boston is Salt Bae’s 16th restaurant location around the world and his third location in the U.S., according to the restaurant’s website. The other two Nusr-Et locations in the U.S. are in Miami and New York City.
Gökçe became known as Salt Bae after videos where he dramatically slices and salts meat went viral. On Instagram, the chef now has more than 30 million followers. The post about the Boston restaurant has received nearly half a million likes.
Salt Bae will stay closed for a few more days. Nusr-Et had a hearing in Boston Tuesday morning on its violations of coronavirus protocols.
