Kowloon Restaurant in Saugus, Massachusetts has some cool plans slated for this summer as the Covid-19 lockdown comes to a close. As the revered Route One venue continues to serve lunch and dinner with takeaway, curbside pickup and delivery service, the Saugus landmark plans to use their parking lot as a car hop with outdoor service, live entertainment and a giant big-screen TV with drive-in movies.

The Wong family has owned and operated Kowloon for the past 70 years.
“Never in my wildest dreams did we ever think this would happen,” said Kowloon spokesperson Bobby Wong. “We are adapting and will keep going. We are working on plans to use the parking lot as a car hop service, where we will deliver food and drinks to guests in their car; guests can bring their lawn chairs and sit outside. A plan is in the works for the project.”
Takeaway, curbside pickup and delivery continue with their signature items: Pu Pu platters, Crab Rangoon, Saugus Wings, Seafood Exotic Fantasy, General Gau Chicken, Lobster Sauce, Fried Scallops, and Pepper Calamari, to vegetarian and gluten-free options to go. Kowloon’s scorpion bowls and Mai Tai cocktails are also available for takeaway, curbside pickup and delivery service.
The Kowloon’s Tiki Bar, a landmark success already in the parking lot, will continue. The Kowloon, owned and operated by the Wong family for the last 70 years, has plans for an anniversary party in August.
