New Sister Restaurant of The Capital Grille Brings Luxe Burgers to Newbury Street

Known for upscale burgers, spiked shakes and a thoughtful wine list, The Capital Burger is introducing its distinctive dining experience to Newbury Street. An extension of Boston’s acclaimed The Capital Grille, the restaurant opens Friday, March 26, offering indoor dining and outdoor seating, weather permitting, in addition to takeout.

Leveraging The Capital Grille’s steak expertise, the restaurant serves an array of specialty and classic burgers crafted from a proprietary beef blend by Pat LaFrieda Meat Purveyors. Selections include its namesake The Capital Burger, a French-onion style burger with caramelized onions, Wisconsin Grand Cru Gruyère and shallot aioli; a Bacon Cheeseburger with candied smoked bacon, Vermont Cheddar and tomato jam; and a customizable Classic Cheeseburger using elevated toppings like 15-year aged balsamic mushrooms or a fried cage-free egg. Every experience at The Capital Burger starts with a complimentary Mason Jar of House-Made Pickles.

Mirroring The Capital Grille’s passion for wine, servers at The Capital Burger can assist guests in pairing menu items with a thoughtful list of nearly 20 offerings by the glass, including rarely offered labels such as Caymus and Orin Swift.

Spiked shakes top off the burger ritual, with options such as the Stoli Doli, inspired by The Capital Grille’s iconic cocktail with Stolichnaya vodka, vanilla ice cream and candied pineapple. The bar also pours an assortment of beers, including selections from Boston-based breweries in addition to handcrafted cocktails like The Pursuit of Happiness, featuring Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Strawberry, Pineapple, Lemon Juice, Basil; and Smoked Bacon Old Fashioned with Bacon- Infused Jim Beam Black Bourbon, Maple Syrup, Bitters.
The restaurant is hiring 65 experienced hospitality professionals to staff the new restaurant. Roles to be filled include servers, bartenders and line cooks, among others.

The Capital Burger is located at 159 Newbury Street in Boston, Mass. and open seven days a week for lunch and dinner from 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. The restaurant spans two levels and 4,062 square feet, including an extensive lounge and semi- private dining space.
