Douzo Sushi – A Quick Drop About a Spot
I’m a sushi head aka sushi lover, so it’s kind of funny that finally, I just went to Douzo at 131 Dartmouth St., Boston. I guess it’s because I heard enough about it and figured it was just a run-of-the-mill sushi spot. I ended up there Friday night and loved it! The first thing that caught my eye was the ambiance (I’m very into that). It was clean, casual and comfortable with an “upscale” feel. It was perfect for me! Also, the staff was extremely inviting; they get a 10 on the “hospitality scale.” The sushi was fresh and well put together as expected. Our waitress was very attentive to the fact that I have food allergies, compared to other restaurants that I’ve been to. Therefore, I give a shout out to the management for instructing their staff on how to pay attention to detail. It’s not always a given, so I was impressed. Now… let’s get to the drinks and desserts! I’m a sweet-cocktail drinker so I ordered the Pineapple Lychee Martini. I will say it’s the best Lychee Martini I’ve had and was perfectly sweet. For dessert, I had the standard fried ice cream and my favorite, Creme Brûlée. Their Brûlée was really good. I will most likely order it every time that I go. They also stay open until 11:30 which is a huge plus!! This is now my new spot!
