Governor Baker backs Uber petition to keep it in Boston!
Across the Bay State, Uber is changing the way we think about transportation. Riders are finding a safer, more reliable way to move from A to B, and drivers are earning more than was ever possible, while enjoying the freedom to be their own boss and set their own schedule.
Now, we have an opportunity to ensure that Massachusetts continues to benefit from the innovative transportation ecosystem that Uber has helped create. On April 24, Governor Baker introduced legislation that will provide statewide, common sense regulations for the ridesharing industry, and we need your help to make sure this bill becomes law.
Cities and states across the US are quickly embracing ridesharing and the benefits it brings to communities in the form of safer streets, unprecedented accountability, and powerful income opportunities for drivers. In 2013, there wasn’t a single law that accounted for this transportation revolution. But in 2015, more than 25 jurisdictions have enacted regulations that provide a permanent regulatory framework for ridesharing.
