Coaches from both teams were having outside interference “bleed” into their headsets. Communication wasn’t blocked entirely but it was impairing it. Mention was made of the problem during the NBC telecast which touched off a round of conversation about Patriot games and the paranoia that bleeds into conversation about the team whenever anything out of the ordinary occurs. According to NBC, the Steelers were hearing portions of the Patriots radio broadcast on 98.5 The Sports Hub. The Patriots were also experiencing interference. A wire was switched out, which seemed to solve the problem, according to a source.
