MassNightly Weekend Recap 5/30-6/1

American Craft Beer Fest

This past weekend we ventured out to different parts of Boston (and its suburbs) for some great events and to search for some new deals…for you!

Friday night we took a trip over to the World Trade Center in the Seaport of Boston for the American Craft Brew Fest. For those who have not been to the World Trade Center yet, the place is massive. When I heard 160 brewers from all over New England and different parts of the country would be attending, I was excited to see a packed room with 650+ types of brews, none the same.

The room was packed. Each person was given a plastic cup which was equal to about 3 shots. After sampling the beer, water stations were near by to rinse your pallet and dive back into the tasting. After about 25-30 (number got a little fuzzy after 20) tastings my favorite brew was the Magic Hat “Meat Whistle” (which i’m told was named after the owner’s band he used to play in).

Overall it was a great event put on by Beer Advocate and the Harpoon Brewery. For $50, I was able to sample some of the craziest beers I’ve ever seen; such as a sour beer called “Tart Attack”.

Saturday afternoon I made my way over to the grand kick-off of “Assembly Row” in Somerville. For those unfamiliar with the Assembly Row project, it’s a mega shopping plaza with stores, a movie theater and restaurants. The retail stores offered numerous deals ( Which were sent out on our social media, make sure to follow us – @Massnightly) such as 2 pairs of Reebok shoes for $99.
