    As Massachusetts residents prepare for a festive Halloween, many local restaurants are offering spooky specials and enticing incentives to encourage all to ‘trick or treat yourself.’

    The beer world is about to get spooky! Roslindale’s Distraction Brewing Company will be offering a haunting limited release beer for Halloween weekend. Haunted, a ghost pepper-infused Pale Ale, 5% ABV, the brew promises to haunt your taste buds. Visit its Roslindale location on Saturday, October 30th from 12:00PM to 10:00PM and Sunday, October 31st from 1:00PM to 7:00PM to give it a try.

    All day long on Sunday, October 31st every Red Heat Tavern location is letting kids eat free! With the price of an entrée, all kids 14 and under can indulge in Red Heat’s comfort classics from the kids menu free of charge. With entrée options such as classic Mac & Cheese, Teriyaki Chicken Breast, and a Double Burger, kids can enjoy delicious tavern cuisine alongside their trick or treating goodies.     The Beehive will be transforming into ‘The Boohive’ for a one-night Halloween-inspired event. On Thursday, October 28th, guests can enjoy Chef Ryan Skeen’s Halloween food & drink specials, live music, and a ‘Trick or Tease’ burlesque show from 8:00PM to 11:00PM featuring performances by Kimmy Moore, Jynx Merlot, and Dahlia Strack. The Beehive will be open on Thursday from 5:00PM to 12:00AM.

    The South End’s Cosmica is putting its Mexican spin on the classic Halloween events, offering up a Days of the Dead themed weekend. Friday October 29th through Sunday October 31st, join Chef Colton Coburn-Wood and the rest of the Cosmica team for a Día de los Muertos dinner from open to close. The event will include Halloween culinary specials and best costume prizes.

    Baramor

    Attention all dogs! Newton Centre’s Baramor restaurant is hosting a dog-friendly patio event on Thursday, October 21st, 2021. Benefiting Jr’s Paws for a Cause, a local dog-focused non-profit, the ‘Barktoberfest’ event will run from 5:30PM to 8:00PM and includes a howl-o-ween dog costume contest, dog vendor fair, and special menu items.     The Halloween spirit is seeping into Urban Hearth’s quaint Cambridge storefront. Chef Erin Miller is using spooky season as inspiration for her new winter cocktail menu, naming each beverage after a popular Alfred Hitchcock movie. Rear Window ($14) is made with Atxa vermouth, absinthe verde, crispin apple, olive oil, and sea salt. Vertigo ($14), made with house-made nocino from walnuts Chef Miller foraged earlier this year, also includes Bully Boy bourbon, amontillado sherry, and orange bitters. And Spellbound ($14) is comprised of Del Maguey mezcal, grapefruit juice, Combier, native sumac honey, and Kampot long pepper.
