Stripe Dreams

The stripe tee originated in 1858 as a part of the uniform for the French Navy. After a trip to the French coast, Coco Chanel noticed the stripes, was inspired and introduced them into her collection. Pablo Picasso, Bridget Bardot and Marilyn Monroe wore this striped style and it gained popularity.
The navy and white sailor stripe top should definitely be a staple in your wardrobe. It’s a chic match with white jeans, black jeans or leather pants. Now that I think about I wear my striped top with everything! Its the perfect match for all of my floral print bottoms. It’s the best way to mix prints.
It’s chic under a blazer or a leather jacket too. In addition,  accessories are a fun way to inject the nautical theme into your look. My favorite clutch for the season is from JCrew. It really pops when you pair it with an all white look.
Tip to mix prints:

wear stripes on top and floral print on bottom.
