Boston trick-or-drinkers headed to a haunted Castle basement for a Halloween scare and the usual Halloweekend shenanigans.
If you didn’t dare, you weren’t there-it was a terrifyingly good time!
The Pumpkinhead Bash venue is one of the oldest standing buildings in Back Bay. The Castle stands at the corner of Columbus Avenue and Arlington Street, and was originally built in 1741 as an armory-there was once a dry moat and fully stocked food and armory in the castle! The night of endless dancing and other related shenanigans, courtesy of Shipyard Ale, was hosted in the basement of the castle- a terrifyingly perfect place for a spooky Halloween bash. The old castle offers dim lighting and soaring ceilings, making it a perfect place to glam up with Halloween cobwebs, skeletons, carved pumpkins, and other Halloween decorations.

A 24-year-old Syracuse grad, Lindsey Chapman recalled that the Ghouls Gone Wild Friday night party at The Castle was exceptional. The young professional lives in Brighton and came all the way to Back Bay to meet up with her high school friends for an extraordinary night of horror. Whilst amongst the crowds at the center bar, Chapman says, “My favorite part of the event is the costumes! There are even huge skeletons walking around that you can take pictures with. I would tell a friend that they should attend tomorrow night’s bash if they are looking to dance and be around a younger crowd.”
